A new analysis by the Center for Public Integrity and High Country News has found huge gaps in the way the federal government responds to tribes after natural disaster hits.
They got data from the National Congress of American Indians to show that US citizens on average receive $26 per person from the federal government, but tribal citizens only receive about $3 per person, per year. Now, Tribal emergency managers are asking for more.
